MEDIA SOSIAL DAN HOAX DALAM DUNIA PELAJAR ASRAMA SUSTERAN PUTERI KASIH “MARGARET NASSEAU” MALANG 2019
Suswardana, Galan
Pascasarjana STFT Widya Sasana Malang
This study focuses on social media and hoax. The writer argues that hoax has huge effects on language structure in social media, especially on the truth that is delivered in social media language. Languages that are delivered in social media include both verbal and non-verbal. In order to know the truth in the language used in social media, careful observation is needed. This statement is strengthened by Emanuel Kant who says that something that is disclosed in a certain language is never a pure object that is stand alone, neutral, and autonomous. Truth always depends on the mindset and diction of a human as a subject. This implied that every language in social media is not neutral and autonomous. Here, the writer concludes that truth in social media language is not absurd moreover if the language is only written for personal interest that puts aside real truth like a hoax. Therefore, philosophical language analysis is needed to analyze truth in social media.

SKEPTISISME TEOLOGIS DAN JAWABAN FILSAFAT
Jegalus, Norbertus
Human language deals with sense experience. When human language has to speak on God, there comes the problem on which experience man can talk about Him. For God does not deal with human sense experience. How is it possible to use human language which is limited to his sense experience, to speak on God without lowering Him on human level? It precisely is the possibility of analogy. Analogy makes human language remain limited to his dimensional life and, at the same time, gives the possibility to speak on and talk with God. For essentially human being is spiritual and his language by his reason and the will contains human capacity to reach God.

MEREFLEKSIKAN HUBUNGAN ANTARA ETIKA ARISTOTELIAN DAN BISNIS DENGAN STUDI KASUS LUMPUR LAPINDO
Dewantara, Agustinus W.
Oftentimes, the link between ethics and business escapes our notice. Business
practices in Indonesia often wax corruptive and conspiring, with the misuse of
representation and power, and rife with immorality. Yet, business is precisely
often related to economic power and the ways of controlling it. Ethics allows
the science of business to develop virtues through each action that involves the
use of economic power. Truly ethical conduct is the dream of every man. That is
why doing business should not be equated to "dirty play". Aristotle can become
a reference point for the study of national ideals organized by a government
that is just and good. The discussion of this topic takes the mudflow case of
Lapindo in Sidoarjo as an example. We hope that this study could be a little
contribution to the study of ethics in the national life of Indonesia and the social
life of our people, two things that one feels is continually sinking into the mire
as time passes

Demokrasi Sosial menurut Herbert Marcuse
Mulyatno, CB.
Herbert Marcuse lives in an era marked by terrible human tragedies. He has been experiencing the first and second world wars and the atrocities of Nazism under Hitler’s regime. In that situation, he is compelled to reflect on the meaning of democracy, freedom and justice. In a broader context, he sees oppression and domination of labor under capitalism system in advanced industrial society.
He developed the critical theory as a way to educate public so that citizens transform their lives to the realization of freedom and social justice that are two important pillars of social democracy. Thus, democracy does not stop the political affair but rather a mass or social democracy of life imbued with the values of justice and freedom.

This paper wants to present the philosophy of Ki Ageng Suryamentaram, namely the science of Kawruh Bejo. As a thought, kawruh bejo is knowledge that can be understood not only through the effort to know rationally but it is knowledge that can only be achieved through process of experiencing, abstracting and an¬alyzing experience. As knowledge, the knowledge of kawruh bejo is not only conveyed in terms of understanding, but also as a guide for people who want to have the ability to control themselves and thus reach bejo or happiness in their life.

In this paper will elaborate the answer to the question what is being called by the Catholic Church’s Social Teaching on the general good? Here are shown the principles of the general good in the sphere of the state which are found in the Church’s Social Teaching. The goal of ASG is inseparable from the Church’s spir- itual mission to unite all people in God and among themselves, which demands contradicting what is contrary to this goal and supports that which supports the achievement of it.

Bertemu Dengan Realitas: Belajar Dari Fenomenologi Husserl
Prasetyono, Emanuel
Phenomenology would like to restore man’s process of gaining knowledge in the relationship between the ideal transcendental subject which tends to the object, and the appearing object to man’s consciousness, precisely after the long history of tumult and tension between rationalism and empiricism on the valid ground of knowledge. In phenomenology, human consciousness brings man about being capable of transcending himself, his livelihood, the world, and others. In phenomenology, human reason now is as being-in the world, in its relationship with consciousness itself, the world, and others. That human life, the world, and nature live in peace and truth is phenomenology’s contribution to life that we hope it be so.

Both whorsippers of extrem rationalism and religious fundamentalists have the tendency of reducting reality in their mere perspective and approach. On the one hand, the extrem rationalists emphasize their approach to reality based on mere verificative and empirical method in so far as there could be no room for religious explanation. On the other hand, religious fundamentalists face the modern world by purifying their doctrines, strengthening the identity, restrictring their normative principles, and taking religion up to the strategy of politic on freedom. It certainly is critical and crucial to watch on reason and faith in each proportion without tending to absolutize its perspective since any tendency to absolutize perspective reduces human capacity to approach reality naively. Without intense dialog, sooner or later faith and reason will come to any kind of pathology and danger of life.

MENYIBAK TABIR POLITIK OTENTIKARENDTlAN: SEBUAH PEMBACAAN DARI PERSPEKTIF ETIKA POLITIK
Pandor, Pius
In philosophical discussions, politics is one of the most interesting, deep but
also slippery topics. It is interesting because it aims to make life in society
more humane, deep because it involves a variety of interests, and slippery
because it is a discussion between citizens on various issues in a public space.
This interesting, deep and slippery discourse is analysed by Hannah Arendt
by clearly distinguishing between what is political and what is apolitical. In
what is political, there are freedom and plurality. This becomes evident in the
arena called "public space". On the other hand, what is apolitical can be defined
as forcing the citizens into uniformity. According the Arendt, authentic politics
has to be vivified by freedom, supported by plurality among human beings
and strengthened by interlocution [communication] among citizens in public
space.

Emansipasi Sebagai Tata Bahasa Telaah Filsafat Moral Axel Honneth tentang Multikulturalisme
Seran, Alexander
This article is concerned to show Axel Honneth’s philosophical approach that explains the struggle for the establishment of relations of mutual recognition, as a precondition for self-realization. Like G.W.F.Hegel, G.H. Mead, and many feminist proponents, Honneth stresses the importance of social relationships to the development and maintenance of a person’s identity. Honneth develops a framework for interpreting social struggles based on common values. The moral philosophy of Honneth can be applied in interpreting Pancasila as universal principles that must be reflected in positive-lawmaking. Therefore the constitution and rules or regulations that are based on the constitution can be amended to meet society’s needs and demands.

Resensi Buku : Tema-tema Eksistensialisme, Pengantar Menuju Eksistensialisme Dewasa Ini
Untara, Simon

Imlek Sebagai Permohonan Dan Syukur
Harsono, .
Universitas Sanata Dharma Yogyakarta
The central point of Imlek’s celebration is ritual. The ritual of Imlek lasts for 21 days. It begins with a prayer to The God of the Kitchen and is ended by Lampion Festival. The main purposes of all rituals in Imlek are to achieve prosperity, serenity, and happiness. For Langer, ritual is a kind of symbol. Ritual is an actualization of human expression because the relation between human and symbol is essential and integral. This expression forms a certain pattern. Then, that pattern forms a role making that makes each person who wants join it must follow that pattern. Later, this pattern forms a ritual. In this research, the ritual is an expression of gratitude. People who celebrate Imlek offer thanksgiving to God (Thian). This gratitude also contains of hope, namely the blessing of Thian in the coming year. An important part of this act is a lively celebration which is performed in such away that people can experience and feel the gratitute.

POPULISME AGAMA ERA DEMOKRASI DI INDONESIA
Wijayanti, Venti
Abtract
Populism as a phenomenon is developing in countries throughout the world. The failure of democracy as a system of government is a major factor in the emergence of populism. Indonesia has only stepped on 20 years of the reign of democracy, religious populism has emerged in fertile fields. The elections of 2016 and 2019 became a phenomenon of the great success of populism in Indonesia. Religious populism can be created because there are three main constituent elements, name- ly: the people, the elite, the public will. Religious populism arises because ideolo- gy can give symbolic legitimacy to control public space. In the face of challenges, the social, global economy comes in the middle, religious populism provides prom- ises of certainty and motivation. The existence of information media that positions everyone can be a source of information about lies so that social polarization appears. Religious populism responds to the political status quo and economic of democratic era in Indonesia.

DEMOKRASI DAN KEBIJAKAN PUBLIK: MENGKRITISI POPULISME
Hendrawan, Datu
Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya
Democracyisbasicallyasystemthatplacesthepeople(demos)asthesu-
preme ruler as well as the main power in government. This paper intends to crit-
icize the phenomenon of populism that occurs in democracy. The right populism
movement poses a threat to a democratic rule of law because of its power to sup-
pressparliaments,dictatethegovernment,intimidatethecourtsandthepolice.
In discourse theory and deliberative democracy, Habermas suggests maximizing
public use of reason as a basis for determining public policy. The communicative ratio that is distinguished from the strategic ratio should be the spirit that underlies
the determination of public policy in a democratic rule of law. In communicative action the intention to be achieved is an intersubjective understanding.Meanwhile, populist movements carry out strategic communication which is often manipulative.

WIJI TUKUL: PUISI DAN HERMENEUTIKA KRITIS PUISI “PERINGATAN” KARYA WIJI TUKUL DAN PERJUANGAN POLITIKNYA DALAM PERSPEKTIF HERMENEUTIKA KRITIS JÜRGEN HABERMAS
Prastiyo, Ferdian Dwi
Fakultas Filsafat Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya
This paper wants to show that Wiji Tukul’s poems can be interpreted as an attempt to describe the situation of society and invite its readers to seek libera- tion from false consciousness. The research method used in this paper is critical hermeneutics focused on the idea of Juergen Habermas. Here, this paper points out that the society of Wiji Tukul’s lifetime in general has been immersed in a false consciousness that is believed ideologically. In that situation, everydayness is con- sidered normal and just even though it is an injustice situation. In critical herme- neutic point of view, this paper points out that Wiji Tukul with his poems invites public to rethink the normal situation that occurs in daily life and encourages the reader to overcome the situation. From the eJorts to overcome the situation, the emancipatory movement will rise changes in society.

Fenomenologi Agama Menuju Penghayatan Agama Yang Dewasa
Pandor, Pius
One of research methods to analyze religion is phenomenology. This method begins with the phenomenon that appears in consciousness. Experience of religion from teh perspective of phenomenology means that we get into a discourse about subject’s consciousness in the phenomenon which enable someone to get eidos or the essence of religion. From this point of view, subject could distinguish which one constitutes essence or eidos and which one is mere manifestation. This ability is succeeding subject to understand the religion properly. Subject that understands religion properly usually have an ability to accept and celebrates diversity. Besides, subject will always realize that his existence is always in a relation with others’, so that his existence remains as co-existence. This awareness of co-existence at the end leads subject to grow up in the paradigm of pro-existence. It is so crucial a moment amid several violence that takes place in the name of religion in Indonesia that co-existence must be promoted.

IMAGINE THERE’S A HEAVEN REASONABLE RELIGION, RELIGIOUS REASON
Nadres, Ramon
Religious fundamentalism, on the one hand, as manifested in terrorist activity and extreme rationalism which leads to atheism on the other seem to be untenable choices for any honest man. Both put faith and reason at odds with one another. If neither is acceptable, then there must be a middle way. Thomas Aquinas has spoken about the medium virtutis, the golden mean, when it comes to virtuous acts, which avoid vicious extremes in any moral act. How do we find this medium virtutis between faith and reason? After looking at prudence as the recta ratio agibilium and seeing that the guide for the recta ratio is the truth, we then discover that, for moral truth, which is involved in the medium virtutis of faith and reason, the bridging criterion is human nature, and that reason spans not only the empirical realm, but the philosophical and supernatural realms as well.

PRINSIP PARTISIPASI DAN SOLIDARITAS DALAM VISI PERSONALISTIK KAROL WOJTYLA
Luis, Aloysius Widyawan
Solidarity is not only about someone's personal sympathy with his neighbor. It is
rooted in his personal and human values. Even it is not based on any similarity
of common views, purpose or goals of life, or even primordialism. It is about
values, humanity, and person.
In the experience of each human life, self-consciousness allows each self to be
conscious also of the other self that is the same and equal to himself. The other
self is certainly enmeshed in my life and my-self is enmeshed in his life. This
enmeshing or participation embraces all the dimensions of the human being
as a person. It does not involve only some dimensions of human life. This
enmeshment or participation is also not merely discourse or consciousness but
rather manifests itself in concrete action because, in principle, it is only in action
that we can acquire a complete knowledge of who man is as a person. Within
the scope of social life, participation is the key to solidarity between self and
the other self so that together they head towards the common good or bonum
commune. Thus, there is no true solidarity if it is not geared towards the bonum
commune

Pembentukan Karakter Generasi Muda Berwawasan Nilai-Nilai Pancasila Melalui Video Game Bertema RPG
Kresna, Arya
This paper discusses the possibility to in still the values of the nation-state’s philosophy (Pancasila) on the young generation by using video games. Video games can facilitate the internalization of the values such as divinity, humanity, unity, democracy and justice more creatively and effectively as nowadays, young people are more interested in the video games that are played on computer, laptop and smart phones. The internalization of these values can be done explicitly and implicitly in every aspect of video game, through the plots of the game, the actor, dialogue and the content of the story of the game.
The values of Pancasila will be analyzed hermeneutically to be improved in the electronic games. Then, we will discuss the narration and characters that will be analyzed philosophically to find capabilities of character of the values of Pancasila building. RPG video games can be used to build the characters of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy and just if these values can be expressed comprehensively in all aspects of video game RPG narration and characters

Tuhan Menurut Ludwig Feuerbach
Hasiholan, Xaverius Chandra
Fakultas Filsafat
Ludwig Feuerbach proposes that God in religion is the product of human consciousness. Here the author wants to know how Feurbach came to that. First of all, it is to be demonstrated why Feuerbach discussed the subject of religion. Furthermore, it is shown how Feuerbach came to that God is the result of human consciousness facing its natural limitations in the face of its desire for happiness. With that it is found by Feuerbach that God’s
supernatural qualities are nothing but a projection of the natural qualities of man himself. Nevertheless, the religious person is unaware of the self-projection he wore to God by the role of imagination, feeling, and theology. This provokes inquiry about why it happens. At the end of it is given little response to Feuerbach’s claim of God.

Peran Filsafat Dalam Transformasi Masyarakat Menurut John Dewey
Mulyatno, CB.
Dosen Program Studi Filsafat Keilahian, Fakultas Teologi, Universitas Sanata Dharma
Most people and academics think that philosophy is too difficult, abstract and complicated. Philosophy is a discipline that only elites can learn. This implies two things. First, philosophy has not been understood in the wider community. Second, many people do not yet understand well the meaning and role of philosophy for actual life today. In other words, the relevance of philosophy is questionable. John Dewey is a philosopher who explores the meaning and role of philosophy in developing a social life. From a pragmatic and instrumental perspective, he underlines the meaning and role of philosophy in social life. With a qualitative approach, this literature study of John Dewey’s thought finds three important things. First, as an intellectual movement, philosophy is the process of transforming the life of society. It is an integral part with the experience of human life in finding the meaning of life. Secondly, to inforce the role of philosophical reflection in serving the human development, it is necessary to reconstruction of philosophy. Third, continuous philosophizing is a process of education. It is to improve the quality of human thinking and of human moral conduct in society.

SUMBANGAN INTERNALISME DAN EKSTERNALISME DALAM KONSEP KETUHANAN
Simon, Untara
Abstract
Internalism and externalism are closely related to the issue of knowledge justification. There are fundamental differences between the two streams in the epistemology. However, both agree that to be true, knowledge must be justified. For internalism, this justification is sufficient from within: if it is based on memory, conclusions on various opinions and sensory perceptions of the subject of the knower have rational and reasonable justifications, then the conclusion is true. While for externalism, justification must take into account the validity of the process of achieving knowledge so that the environment, history and social context associated with that knowledge must be taken into account in determining the truth of a conclusion.
This paper will try to answer the following questions: Related to the internalism-externalism debate, how can theology be classified? Is it true that theology falls into the category of internalism because God, the object of knowledge in theology, is something that has never been encountered by anyone, cannot be sensed and cannot be objectified? What are the implications of this classification of theology for theology itself? How does this debate make a special contribution to theology?
Key Words: Epistemology, Internalism, Externalism, Theodicy.

Trinarso, Agustinus Pratisto
Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya
This paper tries to uncover the dynamics of communalism in Indonesia in
the history of the nation and tries to study it in the realm of philosophical thought.
Communalism is based on kinship, regionalism, religion, ethnic identity and oth-
ers as a binding and impetus for each individual to prioritize the community over
his own interests as an individual. Communalism is closely related to public policy because communalism always acts on behalf of the public interest in making public policy and communalism demands the obedience of all citizens to carry out
public policy. Communalism in Indonesia is not a representation of each individ-
ual's awareness of their rights and obligations, but a representation of communal /
community identity, so that who is the leader and communal figure will determine
public policy.

SOCIOEMOTIONAL WEALTH: ALTRUISME, RESIPROKAL, DAN TRUST DALAM MEM- BANGUN MASYARAKAT KRITIS BONUM COMMUNE
Roida, Herlina Yoka
Fakultas Bisnis Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya
EJorts to democracy without thinking about the common interest are like a recipe for anger and deadlock, and everything starts from a critical attitude and heretical democratic rhetoric. Therefore, it is necessary to explore a participatory model that does not only begin and end with voting, but a system that involves trust and reciprocal altruistic behavior as a driving force for the critical attitude of society in realizing common interests. A system that educates people about hu- man behavior and how to collaborate in today’s sharing world. This system also needs to equip people with the ability to imagine well, so that in the end a critical attitude is directed to the ability to solve problems that involve long-term common interests based on community socio-emotional wealth, not only focusing on short- term gains.

Antropologi Pendidikan Heideggerian dan Sumbangannya bagi Praksis Pendidikan Kita
Albertus, Doni Koesoema
The institution of education always regards with human formation to lead persons to grow up by assuming that every person is in his journey to perfecting himself. Any practice of institutional education depends much on the concept of anthropology of education. Heidegger sees that any individual has two dimensions i.e. empirical ego and transcendental ego. These two dimensions of ego stay in its unique relationship both with other individuals in the sphere of institutional education and with other things which are manifested to that ego in order to lead him to the truth. Search for truth of his existence as human being is the open way which in turn forces individual to become “being open” and “open being”. Education is a way of thought which involves human existence in its fullest sense.

HUBUNGAN WAHYU DAN AKAL DALAM TRADISI FILSAFAT ISLAM
Syamsuddin, Mukhtasar
This paper attempts to represent the world of philosophical thinking on the relationship between faith and reason among moslem scholars and Islamic doctrines. Qoran is the fundamental principle in inspiring any attempt of reason to find the truth. It means that reason still has its place and possibility to find the truth based on the truth of faith which is inspired by Qoran. It is the focus of discussion between the two outstanding moslem scholars, Ibnu Rusyd (520 H/ 1126 A-595/ 1198) and Ibnu Taimiyyah (662/ 1263). Ibnu Rusyd approaches the correlation between faith and reason in the term of relationship (ittisal). Meanwhile, Ibnu Taimiyyah explores the correlation between faith and reason under the term of muwafaqat. These two scholars are different with one another especially in exploring the fundamental meaning of reason (’aql) and revelation (al-naql).

SISTEM PENDIDlKAN NASIONAL DALAM TANTANGAN
Lie, Anita
Two items appear at the horizon when looking atthe highly productive population
of this country: hope and challenge. On the one hand, a high percentage of
young people inspires hope of productivity, creativity and innovation. On the
other hand, we see the challenges of reducing unemployment and developing
the quality of our human resource. Fulfilling the needfor quality basic education
and health services of the people is required to be able to face this challenge.
There are three basic problems with respect to systems and policies of national
education in Indonesia: (1) there is a tug-of-war between centralization and
decentralization as regards systems and policies; (2) there is a need to provide
quality education to everyone and for everyone; and (3) Clarity of goals: for
whom is this education? And on whose side is national education on? Any choice
of national policy for the educational system must orient educational practice at
the national level while at the same time appreciating the value of local wisdom
and taking into consideration the variety of backgrounds that the people may
have.
There needs to be good will among public education policy makers at the national
and regional levels to the point of even inviting representatives from teachers
at the local level to participate in the making of the curriculum, asking them
to be involved in the management of the educational process, soliciting their
help in the implementation of the plan at all levels, asking them to assist in the
periodical assessments and following them up on it. These teachers should, in
fact, be and actually are at the frontline of the effort to provide a national policy
for the system of education and should be actively involved in its implementation.
Any educational system should aim at the eradication of poverty from society
and, at the same time, out of justice, to provide education to everyone andfor
everyone. These principles really need to be followed considering the variety of
the situations of people who are living in Indonesia.

Banalitas Intelektual Dalam Dunia Pendidikan Perguruan Tinggi Suatu Kajian Filsafat Ilmu
Adinda S., Anastasia Jessica
This paper discusses the educational problem in Indonesian higher education, which is called by Heru Nugraha as intellectual banality. Intellectual banality is a situation which is marked by unconscious superficiality of thinking and degradation of intellectual and academic quality. This paper aims to find out the causes of intellectual banality from the lens of the philosophy of science. We took this perspective since the educational practices carry out the assumption of how to view the science. Intellectual banality firstly happens due to the view which tends to put more emphasis on the quantity to measure the intellectual quality. This is viewed as the romanticism of inductive methods. The second cause is the neglection of the objective of science to reach the prosperity of all human beings, not only for some communities. Therefore, the changing views on how to measure the quality of education qualitatively need conducting to improve the higher education

Alienasi Pekerja Pada Masyarakat Kapitalis Menurut Karl Marx
Hendrawan, Datu
Fakultas Filsafat
Marx and Marxism are often identified with evil movements that threaten the safety of mankind. Yet when examined, the point depart from Marx’s thinking also comes from humanitarian problems. Karl Marx formulated the basis of his humanity through a quite unique way. Karl Marx does not justify what is humanity (universal), but he reveals the phenomenon of degeneration of humanity through the concept of work alienation. Karl
Marx’s struggle with the idea of alienation while in France. The concept of alienation was formulated by Marx in his encounter with Engels’s idea of the suffering of workers in Europe. The concept of alienation is the basis for the theory of class struggle to be formulated later. The awareness of human oppression which is demonstrated through its alienation produces a theory that has the purpose of praxis. Awareness of oppressive circumstances
is expected to drive changes to the political and economic system. Work to make workers experience alienation. In a working condition, a worker is actually alienated from his production. When alienated from the production of a worker also do a job that is foreign and not in accordance with the purpose of life. Furthermore, the working conditions to make humans alienated from humanity, because work is no longer an autonomous self-disclosure but only aims to meet the needs of life (animal). The state of the alien world of work makes the workers alienated from the social world. Other workers are foreigners who are placed as opposed to the outsourced workers. Work also makes people alienated from themselves, because the body does not do something that suits the mind.

Dunia Manusia-Teknologi Dalam Revolusi Industri Keempat
Satriya, Thomas
Mahasiswa Fakultas Filsafat Universitas Gajah Mada Yogyakarta
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 produced a new picture of reality. This happens because humans are helped by technology to perceive all things in more detail, more complex and richer in meaning. This new broader picture forces people to meet new experiences and therefore requires different ways to reflect on the reality of their lives. This paper argues that through its integration with tech¬nology that leads people to recognize and exploit nature in such a way, humans in the industrial revolution 4.0 were brought to an era of natural waste and deprivation. This condition will in turn bring changes to the human way of life that potentially oppress and eliminate some aspects of human life.

APA HUBUNGAN PANCASILA DAN KEBIJAKAN PUBLIK?
Chandra, Xaverius
The quote of Mohammad Hatta’s statement should have triggered Indone- sians to reÀect on whether the Indonesian state was based on Pancasila if the 1945 Constitution was used? If the implementation of the constitution is related to public policy, should public policy in Indonesia be based on Pancasila? What is the basis of the Pancasila underlying public policies in Indonesia? Is that because Pancasila is the basis of the state so that it also underlies public policy in Indone- sia? So, if Pancasila underlies public policy, what does it mean to base it here? Can Pancasila underlie public policy? PENDIDIKAN KRITIS YANG MEMBEBASKAN: BELAJAR DARI PAOLO FREIRE
Ryadi, Agustinus
Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya
Critical pedagogy is education that aims to fight oppression. Paolo Friere formulated the idea critical pedagogy in the book “Pedagogy of The Oppressed” as an eJort to deal with various forms of oppression and dehumanization and to seek a more humane education. Pedagogy of the oppressed is oriented towards full human self-actualization. Critical pedagogy is humane education that aims the full development of human beings to achieve their authenticity which is often hampered by repression and domination. With liberating education paradigm, critical pedagogy is diJerent from bank-model education where the teacher dominates the learning process and students only listen. Liberating education paradigm treats students as subjects and prioritizes problem-facing education. In critical education, the education process is directed at the awareness of oppression. Awareness of oppression is directed not only to the oppressed but also to the oppressors, because according to Freire the oppressors are oppressed people.

Komunitas Politis: Fakta atau Hipotesa? Sebuah Pendekatan Fenomenologi Politis
A.A Wattimena, Reza
In this paper, I want to give description and analysis concerning the meaning of the term political community. This paper also can be seen as a participation in the perennial debates concerning the problem of the order in the philosophy of social sciences. I will use phenomenology as a method to approach this problem as it developed by John Drummond and Edmund Husserl. The main argument is that the political community is a social fact that develop through hypothesis, and a hyphotesis that based always on social fact. In the end, I will give my critical remarks on this argument.

PENDIDIKAN MANUSIA-MANUSIA DEMOKRATIS FILSAFAT PENDIDIKAN NOAM CHOMSKY RELEVANSI SERTA KETERBATASANNYA PADA KONTEKS INDONESIA
A.A Wattimena, Reza
Education is the backbone of a civilized society. In the democratic society, education plays an important role to create, spread, and maintain the democratic ideals. That is the main idea in Noam Chomsky’s philosophy of education. There is a deep connection between democratic principles on the one hand, and democratic education paradigm on the other hand. However, these ideal is threatened by authoritarian way of thinking that exist in totalitarian ideology and capitalistic way of thinking. These two ideologies repress human freedom, and destroy democratic culture which is the bed rock of democratic society. Chomsky offers us a knowledge concerning the way to redesign education in facing the challenges of democratic society.

MENGGAGAS PENDIDlKAN BERBASIS PLURALISME
Trinarso, Agustinus Pratisto
The idea of education based on pluralism leads the students to have good
character, a positive attitude and to respect what may be different from what
they personally hold. In itself, there is indeed a difference. In the face of such
a difference, our attitude should be that of understanding, acceptance and
to do what is fair on the basis of proportionate justice. On the other hand,
discrimination is to do an injustice towards an individual or a group in society
just because that individual or group is different in se.
There is also a difference that comes from a specific personal attitude or
conviction. This difference is related to differing outlooks and ways of life that
are embraced and lived by someone. When it comes to difference in conviction
and the choice of religion, a person should learn how to live together in mutual
tolerance, developing a sense of respect before such differences. In the face
of such differences, a man may debate and present opposing arguments.
Openness and room for discussion and dialogue should precisely be fostered
when there are differences like this. Differences in mental frameworks and
thought should be analysed in an atmosphere of freedom to hold an opinion,
dialogue and communicate in a healthy way. An education based on pluralism
teaches the student to develop a character that is wise, promotes the skill to
manage differences and designs a strategy that would resolve these differences
in a mature way.

Pendidikan Dan Etika Berpolitik
Trinarso, Agustinus Pratisto
Political education and political ethics interrelated . In Political ethics, human behaviors to gain power are understood and judged. In political education, our judges to all human behaviorsto gain power are presented, learnt and inherited to the next generation. In contemporary Indonesian context, these two fold fieldsare urgent to discuss. The discussion must consider some important
matters, such as pluralism in Indonesian society, human right fulfillment, model of democracy wanted to build and the efforts to gain social justice.

Pemahaman Bonum Commune Dalam Filsafat Cina
Suwito, Benny
Fakultas Filsafat Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala
Surabaya
Chinese philosophy, specifically Confucianism gave color to the lives of Chinese people in Indonesia. This paper will try to describe the teachings of Confucius in pursuing the bonum commune through the main principle “zheng ming” (证明) as a basis for achieving that. However, in explaining this main principle, this paper will try to explore the concept of “datong” as a concept of harmony dreamed of by Confucius, and after that the author will explain some concepts that need to be possessed in order to materialize. Finally, this paper will reflect on how filial piety played as the key to the realization of “zheng ming” in building a harmonious society (datong) in Indonesia

BONUM COMMUNE DALAM BINGKAI KEBANGSAAN: PERJUANGAN PARTAI POLITIK
Laksito, Petrus Canisius Edi
Abstract
To speak of bonum commune from the standpoint of the tradition of the In- donesian Catholic Church, this paper does not emphasize the theories of thinkers or their leaders. The priority is precisely the “struggle practices” of the Catholics seeking “conditions of inner and outer well-being” for each individual citizen and community groups in the life of the Indonesian nation. From there it is hoped that the relevance of the idea of bonum commune can be found and its significance for living together. At the pragmatic level, the benchmarks are of course the fruits for the Indonesian people. Normatively, ideologically, the measure is its compatibility with the principles of nation and state, namely Pancasila and Bhinneka Tung- gal Ika. In order for the discussion to be on its track to understand the bonum commune according to Church doctrine, a few items of understanding from the Church's oßcial sources were previously presented.
This study was directed at the first period of the Catholic Party's journey, covering the period from its establishment until the recognition of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia by the Dutch Government on December 27, 1949. The recognition it self was the final result of the Round Table Conference (Ronde Tafel Conferentie), namely a meeting between the Netherlands and Indonesia in The Hague, the Netherlands on August 23 to November 2, 1949. The two periods after that, namely the period of liberal democracy and guided democracy as well as the initial period of the New Order to fusion into the Indonesian Democratic Party, are expected to be discussed in other opportunities .

BONUM COMMUNE DALAM CARA HIDUP MASYARAKAT JAWA: HIBRIDITAS PERTEMUAN BUDAYA JAWA AREK
Abdillah, Autar

This article intends to reveal that the common good in the Javanese Arek
culture was born from various mixtures (hybridities) of cultural encounters over a
very long period of time and made Javanese Arek culture one of the most import-

The human character and the Javanese Arek cultural community are also
formed from harsh natural pressures, such as the eruption of Mount Kelud during
the year 1037-1468 or for 431 years with 22 eruptions, thus covering up the aris-
