Author Guidelines

ARTICLE WRITING GUIDELINES

Type of article

  • Original Research
  • Case Report
  • Literature Review

Article Format
Article is written in Indonesian or English language, typed using common word processing software such as Microsoft Word in the following format:

  • Page size: A4
  • Page margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Page format: 2 columns, except for abstract part
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Character size: 12 pt
  • Character spacing: 1.5

Title

  • Article title does not exceed 20 words
  • Written in full with no abbreviation
  • Use bold capital letters
  • Foreign words written in italic

Author’s name

  • Author’s name is written under the title without academic degree
  • Put numbers after author names for affiliation information
  • Affiliation (department and institute) along with complete address is put in footnote

Abstract and Keyword

  • Abstract is written on the first page under the author’s names
  • Maximum length for abstract between 200-300 words
  • Abstract content include the summary of introduction, aim, material and method, results and conclusion
  • Keywords are limited to 1-5 words

Content
The body of the article starts on a new page. The content body covers: Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion

  • Abbreviations must be explained the first time it is used, written in brackets
  • Units used must be based on International System of Units, or also known as the metric system

Tables and Figures

  • Table caption is written above the table, describing content of the table
  • Abbreviation that were used in the table is explained below the table
  • Figures must be clearly legible with figure caption written below
  • Figure/table source must be cited in the section that explains the figure/table
  • Figure/table numbering use Arabic numbers
  • Figure/table reference must be written underneath
  • Figure/table does not use colour (use greyscale)

Acknowledgement
Acknowledgement is written at the end of the text, before reference list.

Reference List
Reference list uses Vancouver system. Abbreviation of journal names follows the List of Journal Indexed in Index Medicus. Maximum number of authors listed is 6, the rest should be written as et al.


 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
